Big things are happening at RP Strength. After more than a year of intensive development, we are thrilled to announce a host of major updates to our flagship apps, along with exciting new products from our partners. In a recent podcast, RP CEO Nick Shaw broke down all the new features designed to make your fitness journey more flexible, powerful, and effective.
From a complete overhaul of the RP Diet Coach app to a powerful new Meso Builder in the RP Hypertrophy app, here’s everything you need to know about what’s new.
TL;DR: The Big RP Updates
- The RP Diet Coach app has received a massive 1.5 update, adding visible calories, removing the confusing multi-step food entry, and allowing for weekly calorie flexibility between days.
- The RP Hypertrophy app is getting a powerful "Meso Builder" for complete customization, plus new templates, including the "Mr. Nick Shaw" 6-day program.
- Our partner Versa Grips has launched the "Hyper Belt," a new lifting belt co-designed by Dr. Mike and Jared Feather specifically for hypertrophy training.
- Our partner Genius Shot is restocking its original 100% BLG protein formula around October 6th, with a new tweaked formula to follow in late 2025.
RP Diet Coach App 1.5: A Huge Leap Forward
The RP Diet Coach app has undergone its most significant update ever, focusing on flexibility and user control. "The app's way better in essentially every single way," Shaw stated.
More Flexibility, More Power
The biggest change is that the app now displays calories and gives you more control over them. You can shift calories between different days of the week to accommodate social events, weekends, or harder training days, as long as your weekly average remains on track. This moves away from the previous rigid daily structure, acknowledging that "consistency is more important than perfection."
Simplified and More Accurate
The old, often confusing 3-step system for entering foods is gone. It has been replaced with a single, unified food logger that counts all macros and calories accurately. This makes the app much more intuitive for new users and is the "most technically reliable" way to track your intake.
RP Hypertrophy App: New Tools for Your Training
The Hypertrophy app is also getting some powerful new features to make your training smarter and more customizable.
Introducing the Meso Builder
Currently in beta testing, the upcoming Meso Builder will give you "complete flexibility to tell it what you wanna focus on." You can create fully custom mesocycles by selecting which muscles you want to emphasize, which to put on maintenance, and which to ignore entirely, and the app will build a program tailored to your goals.
New Templates and Easier Setup
For those who prefer a ready-made plan, a new "Mr. Nick Shaw" template is now available. It's a six-day-a-week program with an arms and shoulder emphasis, with all exercises preloaded. Additionally, when you finish a meso, you can now recreate it with just two clicks, saving you significant time on future setups.
Updates from Our Partners
Versa Grips Launches the Hyper Belt
Co-designed with Dr. Mike Israetel and Jared Feather, Versa Grips has released the Hyper Belt. Unlike a rigid powerlifting belt, it’s made from a lighter, more flexible material that is "super comfortable." It's designed specifically for hypertrophy training, allowing you to breathe comfortably during higher-rep sets while still providing great stability.
Genius Shot is Coming Back in Stock
The original 100% BLG Genius Shot formula is set to be restocked around October 6th. Shaw warns that this batch "is going to go fast," so he advises getting on the email list to be notified immediately. A new, slightly tweaked formula containing some collagen will be released later in the year, around November or December.
Conclusion: Constantly Evolving
These updates represent RP's ongoing commitment to providing the most effective, science-based tools on the market. If you are a current user, be sure to update your apps to take advantage of these new features. If you've used the apps in the past, now is the perfect time to come back and see how much they've improved.
