Our Story
Over a decade ago, RP started as Renaissance Periodization, with the humble yet ambitious goal of bringing evidence-based diet and training to people who wanted to get into the best shape of their lives. It was founded by two guys—Dr. Mike Israetel and Nick Shaw—who thought, "Hey, what if we combined real science with real results?" And just like that, RP was born.
As time passed, we didn’t stop at offering advice; we got busy creating digital tools like ebooks and training templates. Those eventually evolved into our two flagship apps: the RP Hypertrophy App and the RP Diet Coach App, thanks in part to our third partner, Andrew Zey. With his help, we took RP to a whole new level and made sure everything ran as smoothly as a well-executed deadlift.
RP’s mission has always been about helping as many people as possible, and over the years, we’ve helped millions of folks worldwide with one simple approach: sticking to the evidence. Whether it's giving away tons of free fitness info on social media, funding research grants for top kinesiology labs, or launching the RP Strength Foundation, we’re all about giving back and spreading the gains.
