Dr. Jen Case is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who holds a PhD in Human Nutrition. Jen is a nutritional and fitness coach who works with all levels and types of athletes and active individuals to help them meet their weight/body composition and athletic goals.
Before joining the Renaissance Periodization team, Jen was an assistant professor in Kinesiology for five years. After spending time educating students in various courses in nutrition and exercise science, Jen now advises clients utilizing scientific principles for proper diet design and exercise programming.
Jen is active Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner with a black belt under Renato Tavares and numerous championships including 2017 IBJJF Black Belt World Champion, 2015 IBJJF Brown Belt Pan American Champion and 2014 & 2013 IBJJF Purple Belt World Champion.

About me - Living in Kansas City, KS with Coach Dr. Derek Wilcox and my pets-4 dogs (2 pitbull mixes, 1 Lhasa Apso mix, 1 Pekingese), 2 cats (both orange, 1 long hair, 1 short hair), 2 hedgehogs. My hobbies include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Stained Glass and Torch Working, and Disc Golf.
Why did you start coaching? Cofounders Nick and Mike needed help with a postpartum client
What is your coaching style? I'm pretty relaxed about things and try to keep my clients focused on the big picture whenever they start getting overwhelmed with the details. Most of the time I focus on the positives and progress made. Try to only be negative or deliver some tough love when it is really needed!
What kinds of clients do you work with? Individuals with special conditions (hypothyroidism, breastfeeding, diabetes, PCOS, etc) who need help with their diet.
What is your favorite part of coaching? When clients send me pics of their pets or children being adorable!
What type of client would be the best fit to work with you? Clients who are willing to roll up their sleeves and put in the work with my guidance along the way.
What you'll get:
Choose from plans structured by an RP coach, each tailored to achieve your specific needs and backed by science. Whether you opt for a diet plan, a training plan, or a combination of both, you'll receive 1:1 expert guidance from your coach via email exchange with very little left to chance.
- Diet Plan: Focus on your nutritional goals with a customized diet plan. Your coach will help you dial in your macros, whether you aim to lose fat or gain muscle. Full meal plans/recipes will not be provided but you will receive guidance on the proper amount of protein, carbs, and fats to consume daily with a list of recommended foods!
- Training Plan: Focused solely on weight training with a plan designed to fit your fitness level and goals. Please check with our help desk if you have sport-specific training goals.
- Combo Plan: Get the best of both worlds with a plan that integrates diet and training for comprehensive progress.
With all plans, you are expected to proactively check in with your coach twice a week with updates and questions. It's important to note that the coach will respond to your updates rather than initiate contact on their end. Your coach will monitor your weekly progress through these check-ins and make any necessary adjustments for you based on your feedback.
You'll have unlimited email access to your coach, ensuring you get timely responses to your queries: within 24 hours on weekdays and 48 hours on weekends (May vary based on the coach's schedule). Your feedback and questions are necessary for your coach to make the most informed decisions on your behalf for your plan so do not be shy about contacting them for help!
