Why Choose Derek:
Dr. Derek Wilcox has been coaching for RP going on a decade combining an education in physiology plus experience breaking world records with a passion for improving the lives of his clients. This ranges from weight loss and body composition goals to preparing some of the best athletes in the world for competition.
Derek grew up in North Carolina developing a love for athletics and lifting weights at a young age. He quickly discovered a passion for helping others pursuing their own goals as well. He has competed in a multitude of different sports specializing in powerlifting where he was ranked 1st in the world for 5 years in squats, breaking an all-time world record (935lbs at 181lbs) and also being the lightest person to ever squat over 1,000lbs. He now competes in Jiu Jitsu, Highland games and Disc Golf after retiring from heavy lifting competitions.
Seeking every competitive advantage possible as an athlete, Dr. Derek pursued education to find the most effective and efficient methods for making progress while avoiding injury as possible. Now the benefits of that passionate pursuit benefits his clients by way of his extensive experience as a high level athlete combined with a deep education in physiology and kinesiology.
With my plan’s simplicity and gradual nature, I was never overly burdened mentally or physically and in the final week I felt as good as I ever have.
